Website limits

As announced, we released the new limits for website quantity. The new limit allows to create 3 Free websites + 1 website for each Pro license. This way each user has their own limit depending on the number of Pro licenses they have. 

You can see the number of available websites in your workspace.

Unpublish website 

Make your website unavailable for visitors during setup or maintenance works. All the website settings including the domain/subdomain will be saved. 

You can unpublish your website in your workspace.

Sticky header & sticky filters, sort & search bar

Improve the navigation on your website by fixing your header and menu buttons as well as filters, sort, and search on scroll.

New template: Video Catalog 

A template that shows how to display a video on a SpreadSimple website.

Use this template to create a catalog of your YouTube or Vimeo videos. The template Sheet comes with a formula that automatically extracts links to YouTube videos’ cover images.

Social share buttons

Add social share buttons to your details pages to make and allow your visitors to share their favorite products or content pieces on social media and messengers in a few clicks. 

Make sure to add meta tags to your details pages first to get nice-looking preview cards.

Old Price

Map the column with prices to this element and display them cross-stricken on a card or details page. Compare the prices to make the discounts even more attractive for your customers. 

Change the sender’s name in Email receipts

Customize the sender’s in the email receipts that your customers get after they place an order. 

Access the website by email

A new way to collect your visitors’ emails is available now. Set an opt-in form and allow visitors to see the content on your website in exchange for their email addresses. 

Please note this add-on requires using one of the available email marketing add-ons.

Disallow widget mode

Enable this option to restrict your website from being embedded. With the widget mode off, your website can be accessed only as a website.

Universal Email Subscription Add-on: Webhooks (POST)

Now you can use UES add-on with your favorite automation tool and pass the data submitted by your visitors via webhook. 

Redirect Rule: spread.name -> custom domain

Now it is possible to set redirection from a spread.name subdomain to a custom domain for your website, so your website will be available only at your custom domain. You can request such redirection via our support chat or email, and we will set it up for you.

Website Traffic Reports

In these new weekly emails, you will find out how many unique visitors and page views your websites are getting, and see how website traffic is changing from week to week.  And of course, there will be some quick tips that might be helpful for your digital marketing.

We started by sending the reports only to a group of our users based on their website traffic, so if your website gets more than 30 views a week, you will get our traffic report every Monday.

Unique H1 and home page content for aliases

Make your aliases (aka “category” pages) more SEO- and user-friendly by adding more unique content before and after the cards, as well as unique titles and subtitles.

Redirect Rules

Now you can set up redirection rules for your website using the path for your custom domain. 

For example, if you have already indexed your website and then decided to move your website to SpreadSimple, you can use the redirects feature to set up a redirection from your old page that was already indexed to your new page like this: example.com/page-1/ to example.com/page-1 

Or set a redirection from one page to another one: example.com/page-1 to example.com/page-2

Other improvements

New languages: Croatian, Farsi, and Telugu are now available for website localization in the Settings tab.

Read-only form fields: disallow your customers to fill some of your fields in the order form. 

No coordinates for listings on Map View: leave some listings without the coordinates to not display them on the map.

New templates

Three new templates are already available in your workspace.

Dental Clinics Directory

A hand-picked list of the best private dental clinics in London. Search by address, sort by rating, and see the results marked on the map. This directory showcases the Map View used both on the main page and details pages, and the Disqus add-on that allows your visitors to add comments and reactions on the details pages.

Eco Store

Online store with soft and clean design and various e-commerce features like a shopping cart, an order form with custom fields, promo codes, and a workaround for category pages made with URL aliases feature.

This template also offers you minor design customizations like round-shaped images made with custom CSS snippets. You can find the code in the Settings Tab -> Inject custom code -> <head>, then copy and use it on other websites of yours.

Clothes Store

Another example of an e-commerce website with multiple item variations that differ in color and size, and multiple colorful badges. The Clothes store also showcases the stock-limitation feature that won’t let your customers order items that are out of stock.

New add-ons

You can find the following add-ons in the Add-ons Tab.

• Mailerlite Add-on offers an easy way to create an email subscription form and connect it to Mailerlite, a popular email marketing service.
• Disqus Add-on will allow your website visitors to share their thoughts, feedback and reactions.
• Google Adsense Add-on (Beta) will help you monetize your website by adding ads to it using this Google Adsense integration. Please note that this add-on is in beta so if you encounter any problems, please report them to us.
• Hubspot Add-on is a simple way to create an email subscription form and connect it to Hubspot, a powerful CRM tool great known.
• Aidaform Add-on will help you embed your form built with Aidaform to your SpreadSimple website.
• Pabbly Connect Add-on allows you to connect your website to more than a thousand apps and automate your workflows. All kudos to the Pabbly Team for their great work on building this integration.

Create a table of contents on your Content page by adding [[toc]] in the editor.

SEO enhancement: sitemap for websites embedded as widgets

Now if you are using a website as a widget, you can get its sitemap URL that includes the base path to your host website domain. The URL will look like this: https://food-delivery.spread.name/sitemap.xml?basePath=https://example.com/%23/

What you need to do is to add ?basePath=your_host_website_domain/%23/ to the sitemap URL of your website embedded as a widget.

Map View

Add an interactive map (Google Maps or Open Street Map) to your website and show all your listings on it. Customize your map's look and feel, change its size and zoom level, and use your own images as map markers.

After clicking on the marker, your visitors will see a card preview, and they will be able to easily switch between the map and the classic list view.

Google Maps Add-on

This add-on allows using Google Maps with Map view on a website to display all the listings on the map. You can change the style of your map and use your own style created with Google Styling Wizard.

Please note this add-on requires using Google Maps API.

Open Street Map Add-on

This add-on allows you to use Open Street Map, a free wiki map that doesn’t have view limitations on your website.

  The OSM add-on is built-in and does not require additional setup.

New layouts for details pages

Now you have three options for details page layout.

Cookie banner Update

The updated cookie banner now supports Markdown formatting in the text area. This allows you to add links, your logo, tables, etc., and provide your visitors with more information about the usage of the cookies.

Mermaid Syntax Support (on Content pages)

You can use Mermaid Syntax to create various diagrams and visualizations on your Content pages.

If you are planning on having ads on your website (for example, through AdSense), most likely you’ve considered getting ads.txt file. This file will help you to control who is authorized to sell ads on your website. You can learn more about ads.txt here. 

This add-on allows you to upload your ads.txt file to your website in an easy way without the need to upload it to your website's root folder. Just copy the content from your file and paste it into the field.
